I second this...

This has also been a struggle for us. Attempts to find ways to prevent this have been fruitless. We thought we had the problem figured out when we looked at the following Internet Explorer configuration INF had a reference to "C:\Notes" for whatever reason: "%PROGRAMFILES%\Internet Explorer\CUSTOM\programs.inf" Correcting this however only mitigated the problem marginally. Windows just will not keep Lotus Notes as the default Mail and Calendaring client!
